Athens to Host 2018 Mediterranean Resort & Hotel Real Estate Forum

Athens will host the next Mediterranean Resort & Hotel Real Estate Forum in October 2018, following a successful bid by Enterprise Greece, the state trade and investment promotion agency, with the support of Greece’s Ministry of Tourism.

The exhibition is expected to draw a large number of international investors, global tourism chains, tourism professionals and resort developers to discuss the latest trends in the Mediterranean travel and tourism industry.

At Fractal, we believe in the enormous potential of the tourism sector. Whilst it currently accounts for around 20% of the GDP, there is tremendous room for growth considering that: a) the season is short, typically 3-5 months depending on the destination; b) the destinations are almost entirely limited to seaside locations, ignoring the vast mountainous regions offering natural beauty and adventure sports; c) specialised categories that have not yet been taken advantage of, for example diving, marinas or casinos.

At Fractal Property Development, we cannot stress enough the impact that the certain growth in the tourism sector will have on the real estate market, and we can advise the investor about which areas will benefit the most from the boom.
